Egnyte Local Cloud is an always available local copy of files from the Egnyte Cloud File Server. The Egnyte Local Cloud solution provides the following capabilities:

• Off-line access to the files
• Ability to edit large files faster
• Local copy of your files

Off-line access

Egnyte Local Cloud provides you with off-line access to your files. If you do not have Internet connectivity, you can directly access the files on the Egnyte Local Cloud. When the Internet connectivity is restored, the Local Cloud bi-directionally synchronizes with the Cloud File Server.

Edit files faster

Online access can be slow due to bandwidth issues and large file sizes. Egnyte Local Cloud allows you to access the files locally. This allows fast file edits specially when you are working with large files.

Work locally, Work globally

You can edit your files on the Local Cloud. When you do not have access to the local cloud, you can access these files via the Cloud File Server. The seamless integration of the Local Cloud and Cloud File Server enables your team to easily access and edit files from anywhere, and also easily share them with business partners.

Security	Each user can only create a local cloud for folders they have access to in the cloud.	Automatic management of local access permissions. Egnyte automatically synchronizes all access permissions from the Cloud File Server into the Local Cloud. Egnyte can also integrate with existing directory services like Active Directory or LDAP.
Usage Pattern	Individual users typically do not work on the same files simultaneously. If they do, Egnyte will create automatic versions of file changes – no edits are lost.	Within a Group/Department, users access specific folders simultaneously and therefore would like automatic file locking for the file on the local cloud.
1Personal Local Cloud can also be deployed on a centralized server, like windows server 2008 but the access control for each folder will have to be managed by the server administrator. 2Multiple Office Local Clouds can be deployed in one location if storage needs exceed one device capacity.
