Europe Code Week Unites Enthusiasts of Coding
From Norway to Turkey, 38 countries hosted Europe Code Week - a full week in mid-October that unites enthusiasts of coding across the region. The initiative was launched by Neelie Kroes' Young Advisors with the support from DG Connect at the European Commission. This year, more than 1,500 coding and educational events were hosted during the week with a goal of bringing the digital world to life. With almost 300 events, Poland topped the list! Egnyte Poland supported the initiative and hosted a workshop about Data Analysis and Big Data. Modern datasets might contain billions of rows of data, and Excel is not always the optimal tool for processing it all. That’s when Big Data tools come into play.I led the event and showed attendees the basics of the Python programming language, efficient tools to work on large data sets, and how to present results in an interesting way. The workshop participants got the opportunity to learn how to use programming skills in a practical way to benefit them in their day-to-day work. And, to put the icing on the cake (literally) to conclude the presentation, participants got to share the delicious cake we provided!Interested in learning more or seeing what our workshop was all about? We will post a video of the event in the coming weeks. Thanks to all of the organizers who made this huge event such a success. We hope that companies and programmers in the region and around the world will continue this great knowledge sharing and provide workshops to the community. This is one of our goals, and we are looking forward to the next event!
