Heineken Helps Egnyte Celebrate the World Cup 2014 - #BrazilianNoShow

The Egnyte teams in Mountain View and Spokane, Washington had a great time celebrating the World Cup and watching the USA battle it out last Thursday during our #BrazilianNoShow party, along with the millions around the world that tuned into the match. While the end to the game wasn’t ideal (as well as the 9 AM PT start time), our whole team showed our pride in red, white and blue and had a great time, none the less.

So what is #BrazilianNoShow?

Heineken is running a genius social media campaign asking employers across America to give their employees 90 minutes off to watch and support the USA soccer team - since, let’s be honest, employees are probably doing it anyway from their desks or taking a sick day or busy off site with “very important” appointments. While monitoring social media, I took the opportunity to reach out to Heineken about Egnyte. After a couple of responses back and forth, the US Heineken team was interested in working with us to make our viewing party “Legendary” - music to our ears! Heineken helped sponsor our party and provided us with everything we needed for an Egnyte/Heineken #BrazilianNoShow.

We decorated the entire office with plenty of red, white, and blue beads, streamers, and balloons. We also had an awesome breakfast spread and plenty of beverages - juice, mimosas, and, of course, plenty of Heineken. We even got a very cool cake made with a special “Thank You” message to our new friends at Heineken USA! To top it all off, we raffled off some pretty sweet USA soccer gear to our employees!

Thank you, Heineken, for sponsoring our #BrazilianNoShow party. We had a blast cheering on team USA! Although we didn’t win the game, we are still advancing to the Round of 16 and could not be more excited. We can’t wait until tomorrow to watch Team USA take on Belgium in what we are calling #BrazilianNoShow Part Deux!

Take a look at some of the pictures we captured of our employees during our #BrazilianNoShow party:
