Egnyte is Proud to Celebrate Individuality
June is Pride Month, a celebration of the LGBTQ community in the US and abroad. Pride marches around the globe allow participants to celebrate diversity, to create community, to increase visibility for equal rights...and to have a terrific time while doing so. The San Francisco Pride parade took place this past weekend, and I was, dare I say, PROUD, to attend with my daughter, Claire. She is an intern at Workday this summer and we were excited to show up in support and celebration of a social group that adds so much to our lives. Workday has an active LGBTQ employee group who organized us, fed us, and provided t-shirts and signs to the parade participants. Their corporate presence at the event was impressive and Claire and I walked up and down the streets where the groups were being staged before officially joining the parade. We saw every tech company you can imagine, a bunch of B2B companies and several of your household B2C brands, too. It was a great showing of the Bay Area corporate culture in support of our LGBTQ friends and family. The streets were lined with people cheering us on and celebrating us as we marched. It is so amazing to see the tech community celebrate a colorfully diverse group with open arms. Because diversity is something I celebrate and appreciate in all aspects of my life, this is one of the many reasons I was drawn to working at Egnyte and I am continually impressed by the spectrum of people with whom I am privileged to share my work days. We are poised for exponential growth, and as we grow the company, I am excited to imagine that this growth will be driven by even more inclusive representation within our organization. The more experiences and voices we invite into our conversations, the better our solutions will be. This June has allowed me to celebrate the LGBTQ community who improve and extend my personal & professional life, as well as being thoughtful and eager for how we will create our teams from here on.[foogallery id="10220"]
