Egnyters Making an Impact: Celebrating Dual Triumphs
It is always great to hear about the amazing accomplishments and impacts of our Egnyters, both at work and away. We've got a fantastic story about two colleagues from the UK sales team who are also teammates on a professional soccer team in England—Jack Edwards and Adam Walker.
Jack and Adam are outstanding Egnyte team members, blazing a sales trail in the busy EMEA office in Reading, UK. In addition to their 'day jobs,' they are semi-professional soccer players and long-standing heroes for Leamington Football Club!
As Center Midfielder and Captain, Adam has had a very successful three years with Leamington FC, sharing coaching responsibilities with Center Back Jack as "Player/Coach" who has been a long-standing team member for more than 10 years. Jack is a proven scorer of several legendary goals from behind the halfway line. He recounts his best wins being the PlayOff final victories, leading to promotion to the National League. Adam's soccer career began at six, and he made his awe-inspiring Coventry City debut at the impressive young age of 17. His highlight was winning the FA Trophy Final at Wembley in front of a crowd of 33,000.
Egnyte is incredibly proud of Jack and Adam on and off the field.
Sustained consistency and reliability are talents that Adam feels he has absorbed through his years of playing soccer. These skills have transferred perfectly to help him achieve his goals in a demanding sales role. Adam adds that his high work rate, consistency, and commitment stem from years of focus on his sport, which gives him remarkable resilience in the stressful sales world. Jack attributes relationship-building with people from all walks of life as key to his sporting and business success, allowing him to embrace company culture and take every opportunity to learn and grow. Leadership skills, teamwork, communication, and self-control enable Jack to give great value to customers, colleagues, and leaders.
Jack and Adam credit their incredibly supportive families for their ongoing success in their parallel roles. With their parents, partners, young children, friends, and even colleagues shouting from the sidelines, including our Egnyte leaders, Stan Hansen and Reece Rovig, who travelled to the UK Midlands to cheer on Leamington Football Club on a cold winter day, Jack and Adam have a fantastic support team.
