Egnyte Drives Digital Business Securely at Gartner Symposium/ITxpo 2014
Company Unveils Security Initiatives and Third-Party Integrations
Orlando, Fla. – October 6, 2014
Egnyte, the only provider offering secure enterprise file services on premises and in the cloud, today announced the company will exhibit at Gartner Symposium/ITxpo, an industry-leading event focused on driving digital business for organizations around the globe. The company also unveiled several initiatives and partner integrations that further strengthen the security features for Egnyte’s suite of services, which will be demonstrated in booth #146.
“Egnyte has built a robust suite of file services with security and data protection at its core,” said Kris Lahiri, co-founder and CSO at Egnyte. “With flexible hybrid deployment options, encryption and security standards weaved throughout our solution, Egnyte can effectively meet the security, compliance and privacy needs for our customers around the world.”
As the market leader in file sync and share, Egnyte’s security initiatives aim to offer best-in-class features and partner integrations, as well as provide resources on what security considerations should be factored in when selecting an EFSS solution. The security initiatives include:
Data Transport
Egnyte helps customers securely access and manage their data both in the cloud and on premises. Through a new integration with Netskope, a leading cloud security company, Egnyte’s customers can eliminate Shadow IT by monitoring, tracking and restricting employee usage of rogue cloud applications across the company’s network. This partnership with Netskope offers Egnyte customers a free cloud risk assessment tool.
“Netskope aims to enable safe cloud usage and protect customer data with cloud app discovery, deep visibility, and granular control. We work with leading cloud-based applications and, together, address our customers’ security and compliance needs,” said Sanjay Beri, CEO at Netskope. “Through our integration with Egnyte and their enterprise suite of file services, it's easier for our customers to standardize on one solution to control their data, regardless of where it is stored — in the cloud or on premises.”
Authentication and Authorization
Egnyte integrates with its customers’ on-premises security appliances, including AD, LDAP, and SSO, to enhance security and user management within Egnyte and across all storage locations on premises and in the cloud. The company partners with Okta, an enterprise-grade identity management provider. Egnyte’s Co-Founder and VP of Product Management Rajesh Ram will speak at Okta’s event Oktane in mid-November 2014 about the key threat vectors that IT organizations face when it comes to the cloud and mobility and how to effectively manage them.
Secure Cloud Migration Education
Egnyte is committed to providing tools and resources for CIOs and IT Pros to effectively define their cloud migration strategy and selectively move data to the cloud based on their business and compliance requirements. The company today introduced its upcoming webinar scheduled for October 16, 2014, titled “Moving to the Cloud: Managing Risks.”
This session will provide best practices for evaluating cloud providers and address potential risks associated with moving data to the cloud. It will also cover how companies can tier out their data and move less sensitive files to the cloud, while keeping secure files on premises, through a hybrid approach to file sync and share.
At Gartner Symposium/ITxpo, the company will demonstrate the latest versions of its flagship solution, key security features and integrations in booth #146 in the Atlantic Hall of the Walt Disney World Dolphin hotel October 6-9, 2014. The demonstrations include:
- Device Control
- Folder, Subfolder and File Permissioning
- Two-Factor Authentication
- Granular Link Access Controls
- Third-Party Security Integrations
