Egnyte Launches New G Suite Integration for Improved Business Collaboration
Combining the Power of Real-Time Co-editing with Real-Time Governance
Mountain View, CA. – May 15, 2019
Egnyte, today announced the launch and general availability of a new G Suite integration that combines the productivity benefits of Google’s productivity suite with the governance benefits of the Egnyte platform. Users will now be able to utilize the content creation features of G Suite – creating, accessing, and co-editing Google Docs – right from within the Egnyte platform, which allows businesses to maintain secure permissions and monitor all content activity in real-time.
“As businesses continue to move to the cloud one of their top priorities is to provide their employees with trusted productivity tools that enable employees to get their work done and IT to seamlessly manage and protect them,” said Ronen Vengosh, VP of Platform and Ecosystem at Egnyte. “By combining the power of Egnyte’s real-time governance with the real-time co-editing of Google Docs, businesses can classify their content, detect unusual behavior, and control file access across all of the Google Docs they are working on. This means that even companies in highly regulated industries such as finance and healthcare will be able to enjoy Google’s popular productivity suite. We could not be more excited to add this integration to our ecosystem, furthering our commitment to help customers meet both productivity and security needs with one, unified platform.”
The new Egnyte for G Suite integration will deliver real-time functionality that businesses have never been able to utilize before:
- Machine learning to identify, classify, and protect Google documents with sensitive information
- User entity behavioral analytics (UEBA) to identify suspicious activity around any Google document
- File access control that allows administrators to restrict access to any user or any individual Google document
- One-click compliance solutions that will help ensure compliance with regional regulations like GDPR and CCPA, as well as industry regulations such as HIPAA, FINRA, SOC 2, and more.
“Enterprise customers in all types of industries are using G Suite to help their teams work smarter and safer. This integration with Egnyte can make it possible for them to run and scale G Suite while taking advantage of their existing investments in security and governance,” said Tom Hsieh, Head of Productivity & Collaboration Partnerships at Google Cloud.
The Egnyte for G Suite integration is now generally available and can be found in the Egnyte App Store.
